Located in the heart of the Ecrins National Park, the village of St Christophe en Oisans has a remarkable natural heritage. Each valley is original and offers magnificent views of the mythical summits such as La Meije, Les Écrins or La Dibona.

The rest of the year there is a mail and telephone service at the St Christophe village information office.

The refuge is perched on a promontory overlooking the Glacier de la Pilatte and offers scenic views over various summits such as Les Bans, Ailefroide and Les Ecrins.
Due to the ground instability, the refuge is closed.

Access : The walk is inside the Park, so dogs are NOT permitted, even if they are on a leash.

The mountain hut of Temple Ecrins was completely renovated in 2018. Bright and warm, the refuge is now equipped with showers. The beds consist of modules for 1 to 3 people and fitted with duvets. The large window of the dining room offers a breathtaking view of the typical Alpine landscapes of Oisans.

Access : Located in an alpine meadow populated with chamois and marmots.
Access only on foot in 2:45 easy walk from the Bérarde. The path climbs gently down the Pilatte valley along the Vénéon. After having passed the plan of the Carrelet, it winds through a forest of pine trees that are left around 2200 m to gain a foothold in the alpine lawn.
In the Ecrins National Park, prohibited dogs even on a leash.

Marielle and Quentin will be delighted to welcome you to the Soreiller hut, nestled at an altitude of 2720 m at the foot of the Aiguille Dibona, an extraordinary granite sculpture on the Oisans skyline.
After your climb up to the hut, you can enjoy food at any time of the day, especially the homemade desserts! Take advantage of the sunny terrace and deckchairs to relax and admire the outstanding view of the Etages valley.
The hut is a starting point for many climbing routes.

Good plans : Experienced walkers can walk to the hut by the Montagne d'en Bas path before descending by the normal path to complete a satisfying circuit.
Access : 3 hr walk from Les Etages.
As it is not inside the National Park, dogs are allowed on leash but must be kept under control since many flocks of sheep graze in the area.

Located at the foot of La Meije and Les Ecrins, the Chalet Alpin de La Bérarde mountain lodge is set among one of the largest Alpine massifs, in the heart of the Ecrins National Park.
Many generations of mountaineers have visited the village of La Bérarde in the wake of Pierre Gaspard who made the first ascent of La Meije. This comfortable and cosy chalet is an integral part of this unique village. You can leave your car behind and indulge yourself in walking, climbing, skiing or just relaxing.

Good plans : Ideal base camp for climbing the big races of the Ecrins.
Access : Depending on snow conditions, the road may be closed to traffic in the winter between Champhorent and La Bérarde, and as a consequence, the hamlets of Les Etages and La Bérarde may not be accessible by car. The road opens towards the end of March when the Chalet de la Bérarde reopens for the ski-mountaineering season.
